Aquamarine Rings

Aquamarine rings are fashion rings and are awfully reasonable 19th anniversary gift. Aquamarine rings are also an ideal gift for your loved ones who are celebrating their birthday in March. With its fragile sea-blue color, aquamarine is believed to bring good luck to sailors, voyage and marriage. And with its symbolism and rich history, aquamarine rings make excellent alternative engagement rings.

A member of beryl family of minerals, aquamarine was derived from the Latin word aqua, which means water, and jetty, meaning sea. It was named aquamarine, which means water of the sea or sea water, because its colours range from shades of green-blue to blue just like the colours of the ocean. The color of the gemstone is due to the presence of iron impurities in the chemical composition. The darker the aquamarine, the higher its price.

Aquamarine is clear to translucent. It has a Moh’s toughness of 7.4 to 8, which makes it one robust gemstone. The toughness of aquamarine protects it typically from getting scratched. It has got a specific gravity that goes from 2.68 to 2.74. Its refractive indices range around 1.57 to 1.58.

Aquamarines are mined in Nigeria, Madagascar, Zambia, Pakistan and Mozambique. Russia, China, India, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Colombia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania and Kenya also produce aquamarine. In the US, aquamarines can be discovered in central Colorado, at the summit of Mount Antero in the Sawatch Range and in the gigantic Horn mountains near Powder brook Pass in Wyoming. Most aquamarine comes from the pegmatites of Minas Gerais Brazil.

Aquamarine can be easily confused with blue topaz because of a crystal structure, which is analogous to that of a diamond. But, between these two gemstones, aquamarine is way more rare and valuable. Also, aquamarine is firmly related to emerald as both belong to the mineral beryl family. Emerald is more rare and valuable, but aquamarine is generally almost freed from inclusions.

According to traditional legends, aquamarine was found in a mermaid’s treasure chest and was sanctified by the god of the sea with the power to keep sailors safe at sea. Sailors and travelers carried it for its supposed capability to ensure a safe transit and guarantee a safe return. In the Middle Ages, folks thought that it might magically overcome the consequences of poison. Aquamarine was also believed to promise a satisfied marriage and to make its owner happy and rich.

It was also thought that the gemstone could give strength, youthfulness, hope and bravery. Also, folks thought that it might bring wealth and balance. It was also used as cover against the wiles of the demon and to strengthen the aura too.

Aquamarine is claimed to heal sickness, visual acuity, respiring issues and even hiccups. It’s also said to promote trust, peace, sympathy and kindness. Some folks believe that this stone can reawaken love in a tired marriage.

Aquamarine can be heat-treated to the specified deep blue color. Once treated, it can keep its new color without any special care needed. This gemstone has changed into a favorite for many jewelry designers because it can be cut easily, therefore, allowing them to achieve unique and imaginative cuts and shapes. Whether or not it’s new cut or modern cut, aquamarine rings still look surprising.

Because of its toughness, lucidity, and fragile color, aquamarine jewelry has been a popular choice for fashion designers and fans. Large aquamarine pendants and aquamarine earrings are also well-liked as its color flatters most skin. Aquamarines can also be set with diamonds and other light stones. It also makes a stunning choice in settings with black pearls, onyx, or other dark gemstones.

Avail of the fashionable, striking, unique and reasonable aquamarine rings at Aquamarine Rings jewelry. Exciting prices, great offerings and deductions are also available on Ebay and Amazon. Aquamarine rings are virtually as favored in fashion jewelry as the more expensive gemstones such as ruby, sapphire and emerald.

(Redirected from Golden State (passenger train))

Train No. 4, the Golden State, makes a station stop in Palm Springs, California in 1948.

“Drumhead” logos such as these often adorned the ends of observation cars on the Golden State and Golden State Limited.

The Golden State Limited was a named passenger train operating between Chicago and Los Angeles from 19021968 by the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad (ock Island) and the Southern Pacific Company (SP) and predecessors. It was named for California, which was, in many cases, called the olden State. In the early years of the train, the drumhead, or lighted sign at the end of the observation car of the train, was done primarily in orange, with colored drawings of oranges on glass backlit by train lighting.

The Golden State had the distinct advantage of transcontinental travel at a relatively low level crossing of the Continental Divide, approximately 4,400feet (1,300m) near Lordsburg, New Mexico, thus avoiding severe winter weather, particularly snowfall. This was an advantage for patients with lung problems and other illnesses, particularly tuberculosis, for which no antibiotics were available until after World War II. The other major central transcontinental routes both reached elevations of more than 7,000feet (2,100m) the Santa Fe near Flagstaff and the Union Pacific near Sherman Hill, Wyoming.

In addition, the Southern Pacific (after 1924) directly served the Arizona winter resort, golf course, sanatorium and dude ranch areas of Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona as well as Palm Springs, California, the winter home playground of many Hollywood movie stars.

The Golden State route had the disadvantage of having a weak connecting and somewhat over-extended granger rail line (the Rock Island) combined with the prosperous (and dominant) Southern Pacific who also had the Overland Route from San Francisco to Chicago as almost direct competition.

History

The Golden State Limited was inaugurated on 2 October 1902 on a route that linked Chicago, Kansas City, El Paso, southern Arizona and Los Angeles. A disadvantage to this route was the relative lack of population centers compared with other transcontinental lines. From 19021907, the Golden State was numbered trains 43 and 44, numbers assumed in the 1930s by a secondary train on the route, the Californian.

In 1907, the train was assigned numbers 3 and 4, by which it was known until its last run departed Los Angeles on 4 April 1968.

The train was well-known as a luxurious heavyweight train, although not particularly fast. During the 1920s and 1930s, when Florida became a popular winter destination, the Rock Island and Southern Pacific positioned the Golden State as an escape from the cold eastern and Midwestern winters, with some success. The proximity to Mexico also provided romance for the route.

For many years, the primary competition to Los Angeles was the Santa Fe’s California Limited, which did almost twice the business. After the Santa Fe Chief was inaugurated in 1926, the Golden State sought to compete with this train. The only significant competition to the Santa Fe Super Chief was the Union Pacific/Chicago and North Western Railway City of Los Angeles introduced in 1936.

The Southern Pacific and Rock Island did not have as close a relationship as did the Overland Route and Union Pacific City streamliners, leading to a wide variety of mixed and mis-matched equipment over the years.

The Limited was dropped from the name on 18 May 1947 and the train was known merely as the Golden State.

After World War II, the Rock Island and Southern Pacific entered into discussions about a new 39? hour (the accepted fastest schedule between Chicago and Los Angeles/San Francisco) streamliner to be named the Golden Rocket. This name was an extension of the use of the name Rocket that the Rock Island had introduced on other routes combined with the prefix olden which had been used for many years as a prefix for car names. See also the Rocky Mountain Rocket, the Des Moines Rocket, the Peoria Rocket and others.

In the streamlined era, the Burlington and other cooperating rail lines used the word Silver as a prefix for their car names, referring to the (mostly) Budd stainless steel construction and corrugated sides of these cars. The Rock Island and Southern Pacific emphasis on the word Golden was also good advertising for the California destination of the trains.

The Golden Rocket was to have two sets of equipment (one supplied by each railroad) and directly compete with the Santa Fe Super Chief, which was the most famous train in the west. The Rock Island ordered equipment, which was constructed with…(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about enrofloxacin raw material, slim/solid display panel, .
